Versatile Blogger Award

With many many thanks to Teresa Cleveland Wendel and Scillagrace for nominating me for the versatile blogger award in the past month. Please do check out their blogs, I love them both. This is the award I received from Teresa on 25 April..

... and this one from Scillagrace on 4th May

I am very honored and grateful. I hope nobody minds I combine the two awards and fulfill the conditions at one go:

Thank the blogger who nominated you.
Share 7 random things about yourself.
Nominate 15 fellow bloggers.
Inform the bloggers of their nomination.
Add the “Versatile Blogger Award” to your blog.

About myself, not quite random facts, but why I started blogging and why I am now addicted to the world of bloggy people:-

I started writing this blog to have a record about caregiving for my mom who now has early dementia. I have gained so much more…

Writing has given me an outlet to express and vent, and spared my friends from listening to my endless tales. It has made me a more balanced person and a better friend.

The online community is a source of immense support and strength to me. So many of you have had similar experiences and have shared your lessons with me. I have been supported, encouraged and guided in my journey. Thank you all for reading, liking and commenting.

And now for my nominees for the Gold Cup:

Alzheimer’s Research Guinea Pig– brave blogger with strong family history of dementia documenting her journey as a research subject for dementia

Carter Family Site – weekly walks with dad who has dementia

How the Cookie Crumbles – “an irreverent view on life after 65”. ‘Nuf said

Coalescence – thoughtful writing on various topics

Brain in a Jar – Nancy Bercaw writing about coming to terms with her late father’s fight against dementia professionally and personally

Conscious Departures – discussion on end-of-life issues and meaning of comfort care

Dealing with Dementia – caregiver journeying with both parents with dementia

And the nominees for the Green Versatile Blogger:

Baby Boomers and More – issues on aging including dementia

I Love being Hypomanic – beautiful pics, poetry and feeling

Just Because – just because… 🙂

Creating Life with Words – Kate Swaffer writes about her life with dementia

Married to Alzheimer’s – Margo writes about caregiving

The Future is the Past – beautiful writing about mom who has dementia

  1. Thank you for this fabulous award nomination of appreciation of my site, and for leading me to these other wonderful and brave bloggers. Please know I feel very honoured to receive this award. xoxo
I do have a version of it up on my blog as some other lovely bloggers have also sent it to me. I don’t have time to do the referrals and write up the 7 things about me again, but they are here…

    1. It can be hard, and I am not quite at that stage yet, so I feel you are very courageous! Wishing you strength in your journey. Just write when you can…

  2. Thank you for the nomination frangipani. Although getting recognition is certainly a high I feel it an honor just to be associated with such a remarkable community of human beings with something vital to say.

    1. I really appreciate your blog and your honesty in sharing how you felt at the end of K’s life.
I feel this is an online support group, and we have the freedom to come and go as we choose, depending how ready we are. Looking forward to reading more from you.
