A walk on Xmas day gave many little moments of pleasure.
The quiet streets brought bird chirps and calls to the fore, more than I’ve heard before.
At a front gate, there was a delivery van with a bright “1 hour Alcohol Delivery” painted on its side, together with “CHILLED” and a phone number. A good advertisement on the roads, perhaps, but not so good pulled up in front of a house in the early afternoon.
I look up and unexpectedly spy a high bunch of bananas.

I was passed by a loudly creaking bicycle near the softly creaking swings.

I admire the Xmas decor people put up. Most were modest, and there were a few twinkly Xmas trees seen through windows. One home had an inflatable snowman and huge hanging snowflakes.
The sight that made my day though was the little girl on a skateboard threatening all within ear shot, singing, “You better be good, you better not cry!”

Merry Christmas, Happy Boxing Day!!

Love! (Although I share your mixed feelings about the alcohol truck.)

Isn’t it marvellous what wonderful sights & sounds we encounter in the neighbourhood?
Amazing the number of alcohol-related businesses that have sprung up … pre-mixed cocktails, discount bottles, all delivered to our doorstep!
I can hear the little girl singing on top of her lungs …
