I’m in need of a bit of serenity myself. Mom is in hospital, and things are way below what we wish. It is a bit overwhelming.
For this week’s photo challenge, here is an archive (i.e. very old) picture of a little farmhouse in the middle of New Zealand’s South Island. Imagine a completely quiet and peaceful place surrounded by snow-capped mountains, with clear blue skies and pure fresh air. This little cafe served the best pumpkin soup I have ever had, and the kids had fun bottle-feeding the little lamb. Far away from the nearest town, and seemingly self-sufficient – serenity indeed.

I know with my own mom the hospital was the last place we wanted her to need to be. I feel your pain. Hold her hand, kiss her cheek and talk to her of the lovely things that happened in her life. We can only offer comfort. That’s what she will want and need. Thinking of you and your mom.

My mom spent two weeks between Thanksgiving and Christmas in the hospital. It is overwhelmimg. As is her new normal. Your photo is so peaceful. I love the idea of using images from lovely times to calm the stress. Lately I’ve been doing birds. Best wishes ti you and your mom.
