Happy 47th Birthday, Singapore! On this day in 1965, amidst the Prime Ministers tears, Singapore separated from Malaysia to form an independent nation. What better way to celebrate National Day than with a fishing boat out in the Singapore Strait? Away from the madding crowds, yet close enough to enjoy the fireworks.
We take off from the Marina while the day is still light, and arrive at the fishing spot just as the Chinooks fly overhead with the Singapore flag.
After a bit of fishing, it gets dark and it’s time to head to the Bay to wait for the fireworks.
A firework orchid and more traditional patterns!
Time to head home…
