Aquatic Plant Pond

When we first arrived at the Aquatic Plant Pond in the Sungai Buloh Wetland Reserve, we were quite disappointed at the nondescript little pond. This is it? Felt like an anticlimax.

But we were tired, and decided to take a breather there. And then we started noticing things…. the terrapins, and the reflections of clouds amidst the algae blooms. Petals in the water. And the brilliant red dragonflies flitting here and there, too quick for my camera.

And so life’s like that. At key points we find ourselves wondering – this is it?

Yeah, maybe it isn’t what you expect. Pause a moment, and look again. And be open to what you see.
